Costa Nova Beach
The Costa Nova do Prado beach, also known simply as Costa Nova, is located on the Atlantic west coast of central Portugal, on a narrow peninsula between the Atlantic Ocean and the lagoon Ria de Aveiro. Together with the Praia da Barra, it forms a roughly 4km long contiguous stretch of beach situated in the municipality of Ílhavo near Aveiro.

It is one of the best Portuguese beaches for water sports, since, besides the Atlantic, it also has a riverside front along the Mira Channel where the Ria de Aveiro meets the sea. In addition to boasting one of the oldest sailing clubs in the Ria de Aveiro, the Costa Nova Sailing Club, the area also features kite surfing, canoeing and surfing schools, among other sports.
